Eleven makes a cricket team and eleven makes my world of bros!! Getting
love and care from the elder ones, full throttle parties and fun with the ones
of my age group and craziness and naughtiness undefined with the little ones.
My brothers have defined the world that I live in and how I have grown up to
become a strong headed person and a full on Tom Boy. All credits to my
brothers that I have lived like boys, did pranks like them, stunts like them
and have even tried to fight in public places like them. Girls mostly dream to
have lived such an eventful time that I have had with my brothers and to have 11
of them to love and pamper makes me feel very special. On a funny note, my
husband was too scared while marrying me when he heard that I have 11 brothers.
Like a typical movie scene he had imagined being bullied by them, but the love
that he got from all was very touching for him.
Yet another year and here comes the festival of Rakhi. Excitement
begins weeks before this auspicious day. Visiting the markets to choose
colourful Rakhis (threads that bonds us together), making small paper pouches
for teeka, collecting addresses from all my brothers, catching up and teasing
each other and writing letters to all (my handwriting for sure is a herculean
task for all to read :P). Sealed with love and best wishes for a sparkling year
ahead.
Remembering all the
superlative times spend with my dear bros!! Arm wrestling sessions flaunting
our biceps as kids still make me laugh. The stress testing rides of Hero Puch on
bumpiest of roads with four of us loaded on it, jumping and sometimes falling
off like a drum rolling on the ground. Our little fights to sit on the boot of Maruti 800, teasing who so ever tried to overtake us. Just wanting an excuse
for kite competition, spending entire day forgetting about food, water, etc,
only remembering the count of kites we have cleared from the sky. The badminton
sessions full of smashes all around. Keeping secrets of each other so close to
heart. Narrating horror stories and scaring each other to limits, the funny
part being sometimes even the big bro putting efforts to scare us used to get
scared! Discussing all the latest crushes and how finally they were crushed. :D How as kid of class
five I came back running from school crying as some guy had slipped a small
love letter in my bag, the more I cried the more uncontrollable laughs all
had!! :) The
big bros used to make the smaller ones fight, used to have a time of their
lives by doing so. Playing 29 (game of cards) the entire night and when elders
used to come for a check on us pretending as if we had been fast asleep. Bike rides (geedi marna :) ).
I can go on and on, may write a book on all the kissas and kahanis, fun and laughter, fights and teasers, discussions and
narrations, secrets (well not on secrets :P), dialogues
and mehfils, dance and play time.
Memories that make me smile!!
I am lucky to have you all, thanks for making me feel so loved.
Never felt as though I am single child. With you all life is fun, feels I have
lived it fully rather than just spending it.
Missing you all so much on this day!! May this caravan of
ours keep moving forward and we create more new cherishing memories that last
forever. :)
Cheers to us and loads of love!! :)
Nice one!
