Appreciate her. Blog marathon post- 7

By Unknown   Posted at  9:52:00 AM   Musings No comments

Have you ever felt how much you love someone, but words can’t get enough?

As we enter different stages of life, from flamboyant teenagers to grown-ups in college, from aristocratic bachelor professionals to being married, from newly married to being parents….so on and so forth. The cycle continues for all. Every phase in life is equally beautiful as the earlier one, but surely with different experiences. We feel more responsible as we progress in life. Sometimes one is so engrossed that it feels responsibility takes over love. Take time off and appreciate the people around you, whom you love and they do as well. Certainly love grows and fetches new responsibilities.

Appreciate her, love her. This is one of my favourite scenes. :)

Bring smiles around. Show them your love! :)

Infidelity- a season or a reason. Blog marathon post-6

By Unknown   Posted at  11:52:00 AM   Musings No comments

Infidelity is a very grave topic. Grave because people get indulge with each other, when asked they deny and gradually it’s lost in time. Personally, I find it obtuse.

Infidelity is nothing new, its age old with roots dug deep in history. Be it poor, middle class or rich everyone have had their own share. The kings, the lords and the elite rich class had the pleasure to marry multiple times, even after that have multiple affairs. These days politicians, celebrities and even commoners have mistresses. All of it is kept under the carpet.

In India, if any news hit the headlines involving a big shot with someone, their public image is never hampered. People browse through it, read it in the page 3 section, gossip and then forget it. But when foreign media bags upon such news, even the public image comes to a jeopardy. It is compromised. Their personal life do make an impact and damage their reputation. Just to name a few, who can forget Bill Clinton’s, Tiger Wood's affair and the media outburst?

Few interesting research statistics. An eye opener! Possible reasons for infidelity can be-

Attraction
Well, attraction is a well-known fact. One can we attracted or simply like some person they meet. Sometimes the wave length does match. Attraction is not only in terms of physical presence, but mainly a mental maths. Though I agree attraction is a strong driving force, it’s very natural and human. To make it fatal is always in our hands. Always remember, the person who has been with you in thick and thin, who has been your partner in crime, given his/her time unconditionally is the one who you always have to go back to. Your relationship with your partner has survived tests of time, don’t let it go in a jiffy.

More time @ work
Time spend with colleagues is more than time spend with spouse. As both partners are working, they get less time in weekdays at disposal and weekends just fly. More interaction and closeness @ work is also a major reason for high infidelity rate. How often we hear two actors getting involved during a shoot. Office flings are also very common.

Newness in life
As people grow in age they find newness and comfort in the company of someone young. Youth has its own charm and age is dipped in maturity. The both of them find solace in each other. New company, new talks, a new feel of touch (as if its their first) rules the mind.

Troubled relationships
Troubled relationships are a major excuse to opt for infidelity. Husband/wife do not want to recoup the relationship, maybe a lot has gone wrong already. They look for alternate emotional and physical support. It is possible to have feelings for more than one person at a time. Pragmatically, it’s not possible to love two people at a time. So if someone is cheating their partner, surely love is lost between the two.

Pleasure
It can even be a simple drive to have more sexual partners.

Many reasons incorporate the practice of infidelity. It can be a weak moment in which a person gets carried away and then think what did he/she did? It can even be strong bond. Though personally I don’t buy any of the reasons. There is only one reason for two people to be together and that’s love and hundreds to drift apart. Even temptations can be controlled. And, if someone has a troubled relationship then do give it your best shot to make things right. Don’t fall into the trap of options waiting at doorstep. Confront and resolve. If all this doesn't work out then be strong to end it, then only look for a companion when you are ready.

I am no Rajinikanth. Blog marathon post-5

By Unknown   Posted at  7:17:00 PM   Funny No comments

‘Take a deep breath and relax. Slowly you will go inside the machine. Nothing to worry, just ease down.’

‘BUT, as soon as I tell you to STOP, then please stop immediately or else I’ll suffocate.’ I panicked.

I could feel my heart pump loud.

I cursed the ones who designed the MRI machine, of course I had too. Who asked them to make such a small tunnel? They could have considered such hyper suffocating people who can’t breathe inside it.

The machine started going inside and so was me!

‘Okay you can do it.’ I said to myself.

‘You will be there for 30-40 minutes. Don’t move at all, else it would take more time. This is the buzzer, you can press if uncomfortable.’

WHAT THE HELL. I had to be inside for 1800 seconds! That’s like forever.

‘…..No..no…no….no…I can't do it. Stop the machine, stop it now.’ I yelled banging the machine with an unknown force and tried to jump out of it. Machine was still slowly tossing in. ‘OMG ..OMG…Stop it, you had promised you will. I am the patient listen to me.’ I didn’t know what crap I was saying, but that needed to stop.

Finally after all the blackmailing I did, the machine came to a halt. I was so relieved yet shaky with the afterthought. I took time to be normal, by normal I mean to not to be ice-cold and do a shake dance as in 80s or 90s people used to do.

After the whole scene I created in there, I was directed to see my doc.

As soon as I entered, I started complaining, ‘I couldn’t go inside that stupid machine. There is no way anyone can go inside it, or forget anyone, for sure I cannot. I banged it so hard with my fists, then your people stopped it.’

‘So did you break the MRI machine?’ he said with a big smile.

‘I am no Rajinikhant.’ I giggled.

We all laughed.

So who is Rajinikanth? Everyone can suffice the brand ‘Rajni’. He is the living legend, a commoner projected as a superhero in his action stunts. Humble in real life and stylish in reel life. Our current Bollywood movies are very much inspired by the action stunts invented by the legend. He works against forces of nature, combats the laid fundamentals and challenges the existence of gravity as well in some of his action scenes. Here is just a demo of his supernatural powers-

Also, a movie can cross 100 crore business just by dedicating a song to him. :) That’s the power in the name! Even in New Year’s this song was played in a continuous loop. No points for guessing it.

P.S. – I wish there was a Rajinikanth in me, where I extend the breath of the MRI machine just by pulling it up with my hands. How cinematographic life would be then. :P

On friends and little moments :) (Blog marathon post-4)

By Unknown   Posted at  3:35:00 PM   Musings No comments

Revisiting the times with friends in school and college.

Mock at teachers and get caught
Once I made a very nice caricature of my teacher. Passed it to friends around, laughed mutely hiding behind friends in front seat. It was fun until I was caught by my teacher. I still don’t know why he was so mad at me, maybe he didn't like his caricature, but I did a great job sketching it. LOL.

Eat lunch in classroom
Taking more food than required in lunch boxes as we always knew how to share. Okay, I am just blabbering. Let me correct, as we always knew that we won’t get much to eat. Parents were happy with our appetite, friends had a treat and we were empty stomach. We always knew the appetite of each other. :P

Bunk school and lectures in college for movies
The scare to get caught as well as being mischievous, was hell of a fun! Students who haven’t tasted the feel of bunking classes, bunk a class today (right now). Hey hey only after reading my full blog. :)

Taking Fights
If someone ill-treated a friend, then boycotting him/her for life. Even fighting like cats and dogs on their behalf.

Friendship day bands
Pocket full of friendship bands (run after girls to make new friends) and the opposite happened on Raksha Bandhan. :P

Two friends to have a crush on the same guy/girl
Little fights as to whom he belongs. ‘He is mine’ or saying ‘he gave me that look’ and the other one teasing yeah right, he recently started wearing glasses so he looks a bit different.
In fact also discussing what if in the future we love the same guy (as our choices match so much), then who will sacrifice. ;)

Send a fan mail to an actor
Okay let me edit, love letter to a celebrity. Oh I have posted a lot on my friend’s behalf as my home was close to the Post office. I used to say a little prayer before posting the letter, hoping that my friend receives a reply from him! Yeah we all believed it was true love, and love will find its way (doesn't matter if its via post only). Awaiting each day to receive a reply, feel crushed and cry with my friend when the reply didn't come. In another letter she complained why didn't he reply?

Sit on the highway, go for drives and even dance

To impress a girl/guy with help of friends
Friends are the best wing man to each other as a matter of fact bros and sis too! :)
I'll like to quote a funny incident. In a DJ party one of my bros came to me and said I have to tease that girl, so you dance with me. So I asked, she doesn't know that I am your sis? He laughed hard, of course not! Please help me, treat from my side. I agreed and said Chinese at Countdown restaurant (Dehradun). I still remember the song we danced on, 'Ishq tera tadpave' by Sukhbir. All eyes were on us, as we danced awesomely. ;) Poor girl was fused with anger. Later when my bro told her we all had great laughs!

Pranksters
This one is a gem. I called a friend changing my voice tone. To my surprise she didn't recognise me! Then, I asked her three questions and she gave perfect answers. I announced that she had won something something (that I don't remember now), it will be delivered to her in a week's time and disconnected the call. Within a few minutes she called me up. I thought 'oh no' she guessed it, but to my surprise she narrated the full incident happily, waiting for the gift to come.
It still makes me laugh hard. :)

School and college friends are always the best of buddies. They know all about you, from funniest things to the most secretive ones, everything! Best part is we still fight like kids. :) One of my friends shared this photo on a whatsapp group (four of us) of college friends.

And, we went on like forever deciding who is who in the photo. Hehe. I was the green one. :)

Cheers to the lovely friends I have!
Hugs!

Perfect sunday start (Blog marathon post-3)

By Unknown   Posted at  9:36:00 AM   Musings No comments
My idea of a perfect weekend start, is to treat myself with a sumptuous breakfast/brunch. English breakfast is my weakness. Weekends are surely meant to be lazy with a late start past morning. No matter how much you sleep, the feel of going again to bed is always there! J But mm when it’s time for brunch you should see my activeness level. LOL. I am like a charged battery!

The breakfast places really hypnotise me. The cosy ambiance with a homely feel, scattered different sitting arrangements- from whimsical swings in the garden area to lower seating arrangements (I can’t love it enough), to some benches as we had in schools. Each corner has a new theme and décor. It is refreshing and a morning high.

Friends come in groups, hugs, laughter, flirting, reading a novel, chirpy conversations and discussions- everything about the place makes it lively. Priced decently, these places are a hub for students. They even get stuff packed to munch in their hostels or PG’s.

Some of my picks for good breakfast are-

Hole in the Wall, Koramangala

Ants Café, Indranagar

Daddy's Deli, Indranagar

As Koramangala is nearest to my home, the most checked out place is definitely ‘Hole in the wall’. J My favourite for breakfast is- waffles with blueberry syrup and French toast with peanut butter and bananas. Yum! Umm, my mouth waters as I write.

Aren’t you totally lured by the idea? So what are you waiting for just plan a Sunday brunch or breakfast and so am I. J I should really not write such blogs. It’s difficult to control the temptation and hunger pangs as I write, hehe. Now I really need to rush else there will be a long queue to wait.

Happy brunching!

Because I am happy, clap along. :) Blog Marathon Post- 2

By Unknown   Posted at  3:06:00 PM   Musings No comments

It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take away
I'm a hot air balloon, I could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

What is happiness? We are so specific sometimes.
Like-
If I'll get this job, I'll be happy.
If I buy a house, I'll be happy.
I want everyone to like me, it'll make me happy.
Competing with peer pressure gives me happiness.

Why is our happiness so measured?
Personal and professional goals do give joy, but that's NOT the only thing. They should not be the driving force to define happiness. Don't waste your present in luring for future. What you have is today, NOW!

Find happiness in the little things around you-
In the smile of your kids and hugs by your spouse.
From the wisdom by your parents.
In creating something new.
Seeing sunsets and sunrise.
A flower blossomed in your garden.
Watering the plants.
Embracing the cool breeze.
Listening to music.
Dancing and jumping around.
Removing a stone from a road that might hurt someone crossing by.
In making someone smile.

See it's not that difficult. :) Life is too short and unpredictable to crib about things, and if seriously you want to then, just keep a few minutes for it in a day. After that, appreciate and thank to the things around you that go unnoticed. Happiness is a state of mind. Please don't quantify and associate it with only the biggie's. Its just a little perspective fellows.

Sharing my moment of happiness today. :) Check out the photo.

Yes, that's me. :) I watched the video and liked this step so gave it a shot. It's difficult to stand on tippy toes. Wasn't perfect, but surely a nice try. :) In the first photo I did it taking a little support, but in the next one I walked a couple of steps for 4-5 seconds. It was an awesome feel. :)

BECAUSE I AM HAPPY- CLAP ALONG IF YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPINESS IS TO YOU!!!

Stay happy and feel blessed!
See you all tomorrow.

Technology, a bliss- Let's rewind a little! (Blog marathon post-1)

By Unknown   Posted at  7:04:00 PM   Musings No comments

Lately I have come across many articles and videos of how technology has made us addicted, lazy, useless and drifted us apart from our loved ones. How had it not been for technology we could have had real meaningful conversations, made more friends, and not glued to our phones or laptops? I agree excessive use of anything is bad. Addiction to caffeine, smoking, alcohol, television, overeating or as a matter of fact to anything in the world is bad. As they say injurious to health, mind and body. There are always two sides, no matter how thin you slice it.

“Necessity is the mother of all inventions/evil.” I appreciate people behind all these inventions. How they had the foresight to see ahead of their times, is sheer brilliance in all ways! Back in the days a child used to ask his father, “How I wish I had a genie that could fly me across and I never had to walk.” You’ve got airplanes now sunny. :) We as children were fascinated with the stories having crystal magic globe, in which magicians used to see other people. Voice over Internet Phony(VOIP), I say gave life to that dream of owning a magic globe.

Trying to think in my own life how technology has made life simpler.

Mail Van(Make a wish!!)

There was a time when postal services were so dominant. As telephone was a costly mode, people used to write long letters like a short story to their near and dear ones. A post man used to bring a joy unknown and undefined to the doorsteps. People treated him like an angel offering tea and snacks so that their post is delivered promptly by him. :) All communications used to be via post. In fact important admission letters, selection letters so on and so forth were all stamped and waited to be delivered for days peeping out through the letter boxes.
An old friend!

All of this was very cute, but with it also came the frustrations when emergencies could not be communicated in time. My encounter with the post office is just once a year to post Rakhi. All communications are just a click away, from any legal documents to applying for new jobs, getting back confirmation has become such a cake walk. And, as they say, when it’s a cake walk, it loses its value.

Priceless Fixed Telephone Line

A fixed line number is what everyone used to have back then. Calling someone abroad or even STD calls were booked through exchange. It was extremely expensive, a luxury in those days. And the farther you made a call, the louder you had to shout, the connection quality was never so great.

I can quote an incident my parents shared. They met and got married just in ten days, as auspicious dates were not available later for a long span. My mama (maternal uncle) was sailing as he was in merchant navy. There were no satellite phones in that era. Whenever mama reached any port after sailing he used to call to nani (grandmother), to tell about his well being. Nani wrote a letter to mama that mom’s marriage is fixed and by the time he will receive the letter she would be married. Can you believe this? Mama got so emotional when he received the letter, he couldn’t even fly and come for wedding as all ceremonies were over.

Now even wedding invitations are send through e-card or an eloquent wedding website is created. Even if someone for whatever reasons couldn’t attend the wedding, they can see it live through skype. Then, a time came of advent of mobile phones, huge in size and heavy for pockets, just a mini version of cordless phones. Even that was treated as a luxury. It still surprises me when I think that even incoming calls were chargeable. Though people used to carry, but only for emergency calls to inform if stuck. It was such a big revolution.

Facebooking and Whatsapping

Isn’t it good to catch up with long lost friends and reconnect with them? My dad always miss his engineering batch mates from Roorkee. He says the younger generation is so lucky to be connected. And, I can’t agree more. With time they lost contact with each other, maybe moved to different places, some of them who have online presence have reconnected and have so much to share (old stories of professors and girlfriends ;)),but some are still lost in time.

As of us, we are just a click away to catch up with someone, meet them and hang out making new memories. Even before shifting to a new place or a new country you search the list of friends already there, catch up over a cup of coffee. Facebook makes us remember important events in each other’s life! People say because of Facebook they receive less calls on phone now, come on guys that can’t be true, for sure people who love and care about you will always have the time to call. And, if they don’t then don’t blame it to Facebook. :P Plus also value the time someone has taken to wish or congratulate you in your big days. I don’t care it takes few seconds or minutes, but I do value every wish that comes on my birthday and reply back to everyone individually! Thanks to Facebook for making us a small part in each other’s life, though insignificant, but surely worth it.

Earlier we were so confined and limited. Our thoughts, our happiness and even sorrows were only limited to a handful of people we are close to. Now we can give wings to our imagination, write across and knock every door in the world making our voices audible. I have more audience from US reading my blog compared to India. Was that even minutely possible before? Not even in the dreams, it’s a whole new dimension.

GPS

It’s drivers best friend and you’re best travelling partner. Girlfriends are surely secondary. ;) Though sometimes even a GPS can ditch you, but that can happen in any relationship right. :)  Jokes apart, life without GPS is unimaginable. Travel lovers can feel the pinch of getting lost in the way, sometimes in the middle of night when there is no one to guide through. Even travelling interstate, language barrier becomes a hindrance. No matter how much sign language you use there can always be goof ups. At some places even the direction boards are in local language.

Bid daddy ‘Google’

Of course not to forget the big daddy Google. :) Name a thing and it’s there! Even if you have a lot of answers, but no question related to it, you can even find that too on Google. :D It pours knowledge to us from all directions in all spheres. Years before, for even a small school project kids had to visit multiple libraries, photocopy the material. Now it’s a different story altogether.

Television and transistor

Concepts like, live telecast were so alien at that time. Before the advent of television, for cricket/hockey commentary, music, news, etc. dependency was completely on transistors. Even after television came into picture, Doordarshan was the only happening thing. :) Now we have plethora of channels, worldwide live telecasts and shows are accessible to us! Though I am not a big fan of TV, I surely love to catch up on sports and movie classics.

And, when it’s so simple it gets ignored. People forget all these things in a jiffy. The basic thumb rule is, don’t use all these inventions as addictions. An obsessive compulsion of overuse will obviously become a problem. A controlled behaviour will surely make you feel blessed, with so many of these wonderful inventions, I certainly feel my life has become better.
