Snow white- that's my color

Let's start with a quiz. A ten on ten for guessing similarity on all the below images-

Easy? Yes, all are dancing numbers. Peculiarity of being ornamented by presence of snow whites. And, to notice not even a mixed bag of girls, but only foreigners. Lately, Bollywood has been glued to this trend. Even award functions as well as reality shows are colonized by artists performing with foreign girls.

Its justified when a movie is shot in foreign land. It does make sense. Even understandable if award functions are hosted abroad. But surely it clings to mind when few artists enter the stage with half a dozen girls posing in the backdrop as an attempt to sell themselves to audiences as voguish. It's rubbish.

Does a dozen of white girls dancing in the backdrop makes it stylist?
Is Indian talent any less than them? Why can't a mix bag of talented people irrespective of skin colour be selected?
Does a dance number becomes a hit because of the hotness it oozes?
It gets one step further horrendous, reading between the lines, though hidden but in bold- how we find white skin so luring!

Bollywood is only a replica of our society and vice versa. I have been a traveller always and have experienced this madness in Agra and Goa being top tourist destinations. The craze to get a picture clicked with any foreigner is stumping. Few families approach foreigners saying, 'Can I click a picture of you?' To which some politely said no, and some gave ghastly looks. I sometimes imagine if I am in a foreign land and people behave the same with me, I would probably feel tormented and unsafe. At Calangute beach in Goa, a big family approached a foreigner asking for pics of her with them and the women were sending their husbands to click photographs with her. Flustered by the whole experience, she eventually left and the family laughed like nuts.

That is our mindset. No matter how cultured we think we are, there is a lot to work on. At the ground root such feelings are dominant. And, Bollywood is icing on the cake. It creates a world where cool is defined by bikinis, white skin and long legs.

By saying so, I am not against foreigners working and getting trained @Bollywood. It is good to have foreign talent. But the funny thing is, how Bollywood pictures funky through such fanciful moves!
