Wisdom from mom, a little faith. Blog marathon post-17

'Do you know what is faith?' my mom asked.

'That's my name.' I replied on a lighter note.

We laughed.

'You know when babies are tossed up in air, they still smile. Being scared in a teeny tiny way, they hold on to parent's finger with their small palms. So what makes them smile? They smile because they know that parents are there to catch them. That is faith!' she beamed as a knowledge house.

Silence.

After a while of introspection, I inquired, 'How do you make things sound so simple?'

'Because I am a mother.' she smiled and continued. 'It's important to have absolute faith in the Almighty, in our mother goddess (Shri mataji). Whatever the situation is, accept it and leave it to her. Neither you are a doer nor I am. We are just puppets. The moment we understand this, we are bereft of most of the worries that occupy us. Everything is in her hands.'

'So, how does faith help?' I asked inquisitively.

'If you have faith, no wonder how long in the air you are, alone and scared- you will always be caught by safe hands. Surrender to the mother of all. Have a little faith.'
